Winter glamping? Surely not! I hear you cry. But when the glamping pod has underfloor heating, a wood burning stove, and a steaming hot tub outdoors, then why not!! It's the perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. And what better way to enhance your glamping experience than with some delicious, easy-to-make recipes that will warm your soul and delight your taste buds? Whether you're glamping here in Wales or anywhere else for that matter, these winter glamping recipes are sure to make your trip even more memorable.

First up on our menu is a hearty and warming soup that will keep you cozy on those chilly winter nights. All you need is a single gas hob, a saucepan, and a few simple ingredients:


Shopping list:

1 Onion

1 clove of Garlic

Oil for frying

1 or 2 Carrots

1 stick of Celery

1 large or 2 small Potatoes

Chicken or vegetable stock

The above list is a rough guide to amounts, this is simple cooking so just throw in whatever amount suits your tastes.

Start by sautéing some chopped onions and garlic in a bit of oil until they become fragrant and translucent. Then, add in diced carrots, celery, and potatoes, along with vegetable or chicken broth. Let everything simmer for about 20 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Finally, add in some cooked chicken or vegetarian protein (your choice) and let it warm through. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs of your liking, and you've got yourself a comforting bowl of winter goodness. Serve with crusty bread & butter for a complete meal.

A few apples

Lemon juice

Oats

Brown sugar

Plain Flour


Start by slicing some apples and tossing them with a bit of lemon juice to prevent them from browning. In a separate bowl, mix together some oats, brown sugar, flour, and a pinch of cinnamon. Add in some softened butter and mix until the mixture becomes crumbly. Turn the edges up on a sheet of foil to make a shallow dish and grease the inside, then place the sliced apples in your foil dish, and sprinkle the oat mixture on top. Cover the dish with more foil and place it on the campfire grill for about 20-25 minutes, or until the apples are tender and bubbling. Serve it warm with a splash of cream and watch as everyone's faces light up with delight.

1 onion

Start by browning some minced beef, pork or turkey (about 60 grams per serving) in a large pot over the gas hob. Once the meat is browned, add in diced onions (about half a decent sized onion per 2 servings), bell peppers (as much or as little as you like), a garlic clove and cook until they're soft and fragrant.

Then, add in a tin of tomatoes, kidney beans, and your favorite spices like chili powder, and paprika to taste. Let everything simmer for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. The longer it simmers, the better the flavors will meld together. Serve the chili with a dollop of sour cream, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, and some chunky bread for a hearty and satisfying meal.
